Welcome to the German Buddhist Association (DBV) - "Buddhism International".
We aim to create a healthy, friendly and comfortable environment for Buddhists, lay people and friends. We want to provide a safe space to study and practice Buddhism. In order to benefit from the preferential policies and financial support of Germany and the European Union, and to spread Buddhism in Europe, DBV has officially taken the initiative to establish a German Buddhist community in the form of a Buddhist village modelled after Putuo Shan and Wutai Mountain, which are mainly based on Buddhist culture.
When inviting people from abroad to come to Germany to study and practise Buddhism, and if we help Buddhists from other regions to buy land and houses in Germany, then no organisation or individual in Germany has the right to prevent this.
Our association works with reliable companies that have German building licences and offers applicants with a certain financial strength in Germany and abroad the opportunity to select and purchase plots of land in the greater Nuremberg area according to their wishes or to directly commission architects. Within the framework of German building law, buildings can thus be purchased, designed and restored according to the wishes of the clients. Thus, it is possible that a German Buddhist village with Buddhist culture as its main focus will be established, similar to what happened on Putuo Mountain and Wutai Mountain. Once stakeholders own land and houses, they have the right to elect their own parliamentary representatives and apply for various preferential policies and financial subsidies from all levels of the German government and the European Union. At the same time, cooperation with local communities and businesses is encouraged.
In order to have a central place for the practice of Buddhism, a Buddhist temple shall also be built. To do this, it is necessary to acquire a suitable plot of land, build a new building or buy a large existing building, e.g. an old royal palace (some former royal palaces in Germany had to be sold, because the heirs could not afford to maintain them), and convert it into a temple, similar to the photo at the top left of this page. This would save money and be in line with local customs without alienating the locals for reasons of contrast of architecture. However, the exact location and size of the temple have not yet been decided, and it is estimated that the funds needed will be in the millions or even tens of millions.
To solve this financial problem, we are asking the whole society for donations, especially the Buddhist, Taoist and other traditional cultural groups. We ask for your support and prayers for this project.
If you are interested in sponsoring and supporting the construction of the temple, please transfer a suitable amount of your choice to the DBV's bank account:
Payee: German Buddhist Association, Beneficiary country: Germany (Deutschland), State/City/State of payee: Bavaria, Name of beneficiary bank: VR Bank, Beneficiary account number (IBAN). DE56760695590002617900, Bank code (BIC or SWIFT): GENODEF1NEA
As soon as we have raised enough money for the temple, we will set up the venue and then we can officially send out invitations to those who are interested in studying Buddhism and spreading the Dharma. Of course, we will keep you updated on the status of the project.
